Madeira Wine

What is Madeira Wine?

Madeira is named after the island it is made on. It is made from the soft Black Paint Grapes variety, grown in that vineyards are planted in the deep volcanic hills of the island.

Madeira attains its particular bouquet after a heating process that consists of storing the wine in tubs for six months at high temperature sleep, then a gradual temperature decrease . The wine is then matured in oak casks for three years before being bottled.
